Jos van den Brom
(John Adams)

Watch the performance by Jos from 1999, a slideshow, or the information.

Jos van den Brom performed at many of our Denver Days. After his move to Colorado at the end of the previous century and his name change to John Adams, this century there was only one performance, in 2008.

Jos got national fame by winning the Soundmixshow (a former Dutch TV contest) in 1988 with his performance of Leaving on a Jetplane. The unexpected high number of votes by telephone caused an overload of the telephone network, but by then there were already enough votes for Jos to secure the victory. A few months later Jos was stunned by TV host Henny Huisman when he was asked to sing a duet with John Denver in the Surpiseshow.

Although it wasn't possible anymore to frequently sing at our Denver Days, Jos returned quite a few times to Holland for theatre concerts. In 2019 there was a succesful two-week tour with his American band. In 2020 the bags were already packed for another tour, but this one had to be cancelled last minute due to the restrictions concerning the corona virus. This tour was postponed until March 2022. There will be another Dutch tour in March 2024. Visit our events page for the most recent information.

You can read more about Jos at his website, or his Facebook page.

It is possible to buy a DVD of the Soundmixshow at the 'Stichting Beeld en Geluid', both from the prelimanary round as well as the finale.
