Jan Boezen already participated in the talent show at the John Denver Fanclub Day (as it was called these days) in 1977 and achieved a noticable shared third place.

In 1979 Jan was a board member of the John Denver fan club and in later years Jan organized the open stage for years.

For a short period of timee Jan was member of the René Wingelaar's band Nickles and Dimes, and at the 2012 Denverdag they played a song together. More were planned, but an injury prevented a longer performance by Jan. At the WOJD weekend in 2022 Jan payed tribute to René.
