Celebrate with us our yearly The World of John Denver Weekend at IKC De Waterlelie in Zoetermeer, The Netherlands!

The weekend will take place Saturday evening 12 and Sunday 13 October 2024 during the day. John was killed at a tragic airplane accident 12 October 1997. His music and ideas are as significant as ever as they've every been.

We will present a mix of video of John on a big screen and live tribute performances.

The program looks like this:
Sat 17:00 - 19:00 Meet-Greet-Eat at a Chinese restaurant (optional)
Sat 19:15 - 20:45 Video showing, a.o. interview Merv Griffin (1976) and some clips
Sat 21:00 - 22:45 Live tribute performances by Jerry Kooyman and Jimmy Duchateau with some band members
Sun 10:00 - 12:15 Video program, a.o. Rocky Mountain Holiday (1982) and some clips
Sun 12:15 - 13:00 Lunch (you can order up until 10 October as part of your registration)
Sun 13:00 - 17:00 Live tribute performances by Anneke Duym, Cor Muurling, Hans Giard, Jerry Kooyman and Melanie Weijenborg

The entrance fee includes both admission as well as (non-alcoholic) drinks. Meals are not included in the price. For Saturday evening it is € 8,00, for Sunday it is € 15,00.

There will be a small shop with a limited number of items, like CDs and posters. There will also be some free items.

Payments can be done after registration. To register, please use the button on top of this page. If we unfortunately need to cancel the event, or if you need to cancel your reservation, we will refund the entrance fee in full. Please let us know as as soon as possible if you need to cancel, but not later than October 10th.

If you are considering coming to our event, Zoetermeer is located in the western part of The Netherlands, with cities like The Hague and Rotterdam close by, and also surrounding towns like Delft, Gouda and Leiden are worth visiting. We are not so far from the sea and the dunes, and there are some nice parks and lake areas where you can walk or cycle. Make sure to read our page about visiting our events.

For those coming from afar, Zoetermeer is about an hour by train from the main airport in Holland (Amsterdam Schiphol) with only one switch to take at The Hague Central Station.
To stay overnight in Zoetermeer, there are two hotels available: The Bastion hotel and the Golden Tulip hotel. Bastion is a less expensive. Both have a reasonable bus connection to our activities and are close to a railway station.
